SpilnoHub

Under an agreement between the City of Cologne, City of Katowice and UNICEF, Collective Nest has been awarded with Richeza Prize to promote integration and exchange between the Polish and refugee communities.

The Spilno Hub - UNICEF Katowice started on the principle of a social café, with the main goal of strengthening the social potential of refugees, improving the process of integration as well as communication channels for cooperation and collaboration with the Katowice City Council.

On three consecutive days in May 2023, Paulina Bedkowska, Leon Stille and Katarzyna Paluch created a moving & activating meeting space for children & youth at the Spilno HUB.

The aim of the workshop was to teach the children & young people that the body can function as a medium of communication across language barriers and national borders. Democratic participation and the idea of a united Europe was be brought closer to the young participants from Ukraine and Poland with the help of dance and bodywork in a directly tangible way.
